FRAMEWORLD is a web-specific group exhibition, curated by Yağmur Uyanık, that establishes a focus on the discourses around creating a multiplicity of locality, understanding of the new international and transcultural solidarity in the times of extreme precarity. The works in the show together critically engage with the present, embrace the notions of urgency, and propose alternative approaches to current disruptions, reflecting on interconnectedness and new modes of collectivity.

All exhibited works are also available for sale on the CODAME Shop and as part of the CODAME NFT Collection.

About FRAMEWORLD

In the light of the current global crises, this new initiation consolidates our commitment to creating space for our community to explore and reflect through creative, technological, and critical means with a faster cadence.

This new initiative continues our commitment to creating spaces where our community can explore and reflect through creative, technological, and critical means more effectively.

The first exhibition of the series is web-specific and establishes a focus on the discourses around creating a multiplicity of locality, understanding of the new international and transcultural solidarity in the times of extreme precarity. Let’s explore the idea of hybrid embodiments while engaging with the continuity between digital and physical. 👽✨

  • How can we make use of the current concept of temporality to revisit the dominant narratives of progress, linear organizations of the time, and ways of framing the world?

  • How do we revisit the ideas of borders and boundaries and work together to find ways of renegotiating how one moves through the world?

  • How do we reflect on closeness and proximity while investigating the intangible connections between the virtual and geographical nature of space?

  • How can we explore common horizons and new forms of collectivity and solidarity to build frameworks for a world that has yet to exist?

Our open call invites works that critically engage with the present, embrace the notions of urgency, and propose alternative approaches to current disruptions, reflecting on what interconnectedness and new modes of collectivity look like now. We invite artists from all backgrounds, especially the ones who are new to the digital space, to submit works that leverage the potential of website specificity.

About Local Maker Mart

A temporary artist & maker pop up shop created as an offering to the North Beach community rises from the ruins of the old Citi bank on Green st. @ Columbus ave.

  • A temporary offering space as a venue for shopping, performance, and events in the heart of North Beach.

  • An affordable accessible space for makers and artists to display and sell their works and wares.

  • An activation of empty space during a San Francisco real estate crisis when many buildings sit vacant.

The old bank at 580 Green Street lies vacant no more. After over three years of sitting empty, This otherwise incredibly vibrant six-street intersection is alive again and filled with art culture and community. The doors of the old Citi Bank are open and space has been reimagined with the goal of helping to reinvigorate this historic and vibrant heart of the city. The lights are on, shining, and colorful. The iconic three-domed bank on the corner has been activated as a holiday pop-up shop and art gallery. The organizers are welcoming and sell locally made goods, fashion, speakers, crafts, and art from local artists. It will be open every day from now until the end of the year. “The goal is to help other makers and artists access amazing retail space and create abundance for the holidays. We want to bring hope, prosperity, and cheer to the neighborhood by creating a vibrant spot for the community to gather.
